I grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area. In high school, I ran cross country and played trumpet in the Blue Spring Marching Band. I also enjoyed biking.
Following high school, I attended Truman State University and earned a Master of Arts in Education degree.
My first 12 years of teaching were spent in Sarcoxie, Missouri as a high school social studies teacher. In 2010, my family and I moved to Jefferson City, Missouri.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing piano, traveling, and watching the Kansas City Royals play baseball.
