  • JCPS Difference Maker Award

The JCPS Difference Maker Award is presented to district staff members and community partners who've gone above and beyond to serve our students, staff members and schools. Difference Makers are individuals, teams or groups who have made (or are making) a difference in our district. Nominate a Difference Maker here!

JCPS will thank all Difference Makers nominated, and some, like those pictured below, will be recognized monthly at the JCPS Board of Education meeting. We love to spotlight Difference Makers that are tied to each of our three organizational pillars: Learning, Partnerships and Stewardship.

Learning

  • Welcome Center Staff

     JCPS Welcome Center Staff

Every summer, this amazing staff graciously give numerous hours of overtime and give up time away from their families to serve the needs of others. Whether it is serving our new-to-district families or our JCPS family, the staff in the Student Information, Planning and Assessment office do whatever it takes to make sure everyone is ready to start the school year. They do it all with smiles and can-do attitudes. We appreciate you for all that you do!

Partnerships

  •

    CHC

    Community Health Center

JCPS partnered with the Community Health Center to provide onsite immunization clinics at secondary registration events.  Over 300 students got their immunizations at these clinics. It was a great service to our families and helped ensure these students were able to attend school on the first day.

Stewardship

  • Joy Johnson

    Joy Johnson, LCMS Science Teacher

She had some spare space in her room and started a pantry to help students in need. She's filled it with personal care items. Due to her messages on Facebook, she's received some donations to expand her pantry. She show true compassion and caring for our students at LCMS. Honestly, I've never met her, but she's inspired me to work harder at LCMS as a parent to improve our students school experience. Her passion for her students is a blessing to our school community.
