Award Info & Nomination Link

The JCPS Difference Maker Award is presented to district staff members and community partners who've gone above and beyond to serve our students, staff members and schools. Difference Makers are individuals, teams or groups who have made (or are making) a difference in our district. Nominate a Difference Maker here!
JCPS will thank all Difference Makers nominated, and some, like those pictured below, will be recognized monthly at the JCPS Board of Education meeting. We love to spotlight Difference Makers that are tied to each of our three organizational pillars: Learning, Partnerships and Stewardship.

Haley Fischer, Counselor - Jefferson City Academic Center
Haley Fischer, the new mental health counselor at JCAC, is truly doing an amazing job. Some of our students have difficulties trusting adults, so considering she is new this year it is really incredible to see the relationships she has built in such a short time. It's inspiring to see how well the students respond to her. Imagine where she will be a year from now! (as nominated by Ryan Burns)
Ms. Fisher is new to her position at Jefferson City Academic Center (JCAC), however, performs as if she has been here for years. Ms. Fisher maintains a positive attitude and is very passionate about student success and the success of JCAC. She makes an effort to establish relationships with students and support their individual needs. She realizes that as a counselor she has a vast role in student lives that encompasses many different responsibilities. We are very grateful for the time and effort she puts forth assisting students to be safe and successful in their education and in life. I have worked with her assisting students that were in dire situations and she performs above and beyond my expectations. I value her responsiveness and attention to detail. (Dr. Amy Herrman)

Tarsha Harris, Raquel Galbaldon, Lauren Coons, and Crystal Meyr - Thorpe Gordon Elementary
Tarsha Harris, Raquel Galbaldon, Lauren Coons, and Crystal Meyr are difference makers because of their work for Girls on the Run. They have volunteered their time by coming to weekly practices after school. Without their help, this program could not have been a success this year. I truly appreciate their input and ideas too. This will make the program even better next year. Girls on the Run has made a difference in the lives of the girls who participated and I couldn't have done it without you! (as nominated by Sarah Kimble)
Stewardship
-
Kim Drainer, Lisa Maylee, Linda Armstrong, Angie Sturm and Denise Pierce - Central Office
Kim Drainer, Lisa Maylee, Linda Armstrong, Angie Sturm and Denise Pierce worked extremely hard to get out September payroll. It is the biggest payroll of the year that also comes with a lot of stress and pressure. This team works hard to make sure everyone gets paid accurately and on time. They do an amazing, often thankless and ‘invisible’ job! (as nominated by Dawn Berhorst)
