The JCPS Difference Maker Award is presented to district staff members and community partners who've gone above and beyond to serve our students, staff members and schools. Difference Makers are individuals, teams or groups who have made (or are making) a difference in our district. Nominate a Difference Maker here!
JCPS will thank all Difference Makers nominated, and some, like those pictured below, will be recognized monthly at the JCPS Board of Education meeting. We love to spotlight Difference Makers that are tied to each of our three organizational pillars: Learning, Partnerships and Stewardship.

Ginny Fox, Moreau Heights
"Ginny believes in our students! She worked with a student who, according to iReady scores, was FAR below level. She worked with him to develop a plan to complete the assessment, so he would be sure to do his best. After completing his testing, he showed 700% increase and was at a mid-5th grade level! That is AMAZING! When a student has someone who believes in them, and provides support, the child will amaze themselves with what they can do! We appreciate all the love and energy she puts in to supporting our students!" (nominated by: Sue Haugen)

JCPS School Librarians
During the week of March 4-8, we celebrated JC Reads Week! A committee comprised of JCPS librarians, librarians from Missouri River Regional Library, along with representatives from Scholastic and Downtown Book & Toy created and executed numerous activities to promote reading. Their months-long planning efforts resulted in a successful week-long reading buzz not just around JCPS but also around JCMO! We all know school-wide reading programs can help change a student’s attitude about reading, while also encouraging student collaboration. Thank you to all who made this promotion of reading a huge success! #JCReads2019

Kim Baird, Jefferson City High School
“Kim goes out of her way multiple times daily to help other staff members, specifically in the office. We have a new receptionist placed in the hallway which makes coverage difficult, Kim checks on her often and relieves her so she can step away for breaks when needed. Kim goes out of her way to make sure Jackie is taken care of and tries to make her experience here as pleasant as it can be, given the construction headaches. Kim also goes out of her way daily to help Debbie with attendance calls, covering for her if she needs to leave early for dr. appointments, etc. Kim is just an awesome, awesome co-worker who deserves WAY more than a nomination, but this is what I can do for now. She is definitely a difference maker for JCHS and we're so glad she's part of Team Office!”
